The 2018 Winter Olympics are more than a year away, but we might have already found the story of the upcoming Olympic games: the Nigerian women’s bobsled team.

This three women team is set to compete in South Korea, which would be the first ever appearance for Nigerian athletes in the winter games. The bobsledders (I think that’s the correct term for that) are actually based in the United States for training purposes (as you might imagine, bobsled facilities are hard to find). They will compete as the IOC attempts to expand the pool of winter Olympians outside of the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Though they’re cleared to compete, funding remains an issue. The team has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for their expenses as they prepare for the Games. They’re hoping to reach $150,000 in donations.

The team includes Seun Adigun, who ran the 110m hurdles at the 2012 Olympics in London. Her teammates, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga, are also sprinters by trade. And most importantly, they seem awesome, and based on what I’ve seen, I’d definitely recommend donating to the cause. I mean, just look at this video introducing the team:

These ladies are bosses and will be a treat to watch in 2018
